We’re fragmenting.
There was a time when we would pick up the phone and call a friend to see how they were doing, to listen to what was going on in their lives, perhaps share good news, or tell them about our troubles. We now text quick and short messages that may include cute emojis, yet it isn’t the same.
Hearing our family member or friend’s voice — especially their tone — we are aware of their mood and feel their energy. It’s a connection that a text or email doesn’t translate.
Now more than ever, amid growing societal fragmentation, we need to make an effort to connect with one another. We are going through difficult times, and what we do now will portend our future.
Fill the airwaves with love this way. It is powerful, healing, and needed.
